Dr. Jaishri Jethwaney

Senior Advisor (Strategic Communication)

Dr. Jaishri Jethwaney did her Doctorate from the School of International Studies, JNU, her Masters in Political Science from Hindu College, Delhi University; and professional education in mass communication and journalism both in India and abroad. Currently Dr. Jethwaney is Senior Advisor (Strategic Communication), leading the vertical at ITSU.

After her long stint at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication spanning over 25 years as Professor & Program Director, Dr. Jethwaney did a two-year fellowship as a senior research fellow with the Indian Council of Social Science Research.  

Prof. Jethwaney has been a lead communication expert for many national and international consultancies in the social sector arena. She is on the board of studies of a number of central and state universities and a visiting faculty to many coveted organizations, including the National Judicial academy, Bhopal, the LBS National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie, Ordinance Staff College, Nagpur, Power Management Institute, among others. 

Among her many books, she has authored,  include, Wages and Related Issues- a Critical Analysis of News Media Industry in India (ICSSR-AF, 2025); Social Sector Communication (sec ed. Routledge, 2024)The Beauty Paradigm: Gender Discourse in Indian Advertising (Sage, 2022); When India Votes(Rupa, 2019), Corporate Communication (OUP, 2010, Sec ed., SAGE, 2018, 3rd ed. Taylor & Francis, 2024) Public Relations Management, 3rd ed. (Sterling, 2015) and Advertising Management, 1st and 2nd ed. (Oxford Uni. Press, 2012). She is the Section Editor for Media & Communication in the two-volume International Handbook on Disaster Management Research (Springer, 2023) and also a contributor to the Sage Encyclopaedia on Corporate Reputation in 2016.
