Vision, Mandate and Guiding Principles
ITSU’s vision is to create an enabling environment for immunization stakeholders to come together to support the government’s goal of achieving 90% full immunization coverage and to sustain the performance thereafter.
When ITSU was set up, it was tasked with providing technical support and developing strategies and guidelines, standard operating procedures (SoPs) and policy documents for new vaccines and strengthening existing vaccine strategies and roll-out.

To provide techno-managerial support to the Government for strengthening the Universal Immunization Program
Guiding Principles
Ensuring equity in immunization to reduce risk of vaccine-preventable diseases (VPD) among vulnerable communities and individuals and in doing so also reduce poverty and improve school results, future employment and health outcomes.
Working towards achieving 90% full immunization coverage (FIC) across all vulnerable populations.
Replication of best practices learnt across the country with a view to promoting innovations and roll out of vaccines.
