The Centre has approved Biological E’s Corbevax as a precaution dose after completion of six months from the date of administration of the second dose of either Covaxin or Covishield vaccines for the population above 18 years, said Union health secretary Rajesh Bhushan. The latest move by the Centre, amid rising Covid-19 cases in many states, is significant as this is for the first time that a booster dose that is different from the one used for primary vaccination against Covid-19 has been allowed in the country”.
